RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the characteristics of 169 single-flavored drugs in The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of Indian, and to provide reference for China to expand new drug sources and study new indications. METHODS: Sanskrit drug names, botanical names (family names), Chinese medicine names, medicinal parts, therapeutic uses in Ayurveda, distributions in India, distributions or cultivations (introductions) in other countries and regions, the main treatments of other countries and regions were introduced comprehensively, so as to analyze the distribution, family names characteristics, medicinal part and indication characteristics of 169 single-flavored drugs. RESULTS: Totally 169 single-flavored drugs were mostly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. There were 116 single-flavored drugs distributed throughout India (including introduction or cultivation) and medicinal; while 51 single-flavored drugs were only distributed in India; 21 single-flavored drugs were distributed and used in China; 10 single-flavored drugs have a distribution in China but have not been used; only one single-flavored drug had been used in China but had no distribution. Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian were provinces (districs) where Ayurveda single-flavored drug was planted and used more frequently. Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Malaysia were countries where Ayurveda single-flavored drug was planted and used more frequently. The original plants of the 169 single-flavored drugs were derived from Euphorbiaceae and Dipterocarpaceae, Umbelliferae and Morus, etc. More roots and rhizomes were used. The types of commonly treatment diseases were digestive diseases, respiratory diseases, “symptoms, signs, and clinical and laboratory abnormalities, which cannot be classified elsewhere”, skin and subcutaneous tissue diseases, genitourinary system diseases, blood diseases, etc. The diseases with characteristic diagnosis and treatment were caused by imbalance of body wind, intermittent heat, imbalance of mucin and imbalances of three diseases. CONCLUSIONS: 169 single-flavored drugs in this paper are distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, and are often used to treat digestive diseases. This study can provide reference for the introduction and cultivation of Ayurveda single-flavored drug and for the development of new drug sources and new uses in China.

OBJECTIVE:To study varieties,indications and usage features of Tibetan medicine preparations,and provide refer-ence for the clinical treatment and new drug development for Tibetan medicine. METHODS:Tibetan medicine preparations in offi-cial standards were collected,variety features(formula scale,license number,pharmaceutical enterprise,name and dosage form, herbal medicine number),action features(indication name,clinical application)and medicine features(category and quantity,me-dicinal part,commonly used drug,frequency,three fruitsuse feature) were summarized. RESULTS:Totally 458 preparations were included,including 18 recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia (part 1,2015 edition),200 recorded in Pharmaceutical Stan-dards of the Ministry of Health of China(Tibetan medicine,1995 edition),240 recorded in Tibetan Medicine Standards(six prov-inces). 129 had obtained 430 license numbers,from 52 pharmaceutical companies;the prearations were mainly named byherbal medicine+principal medicine+dosage formprincipal medicine+dosage formandindication+dosage form. Dosage forms had powder,pill,cream,oil,syrup and wine; the number of herbal medicine was(13.81±13.28). The Tibetan preparations were com-monly used in the clinical treatment of diseases of the digestive system,respiratory system,genitourinary system,circulatory sys-tem,infectious and parasitic diseases,etc. 442 medicines had been used,including 297 herbal medicines,70 animal medicines, 47 mineral medicines and other 28 medicines. The common medicinal parts were seed or fruit,root or rhizome,whole grass,flow-er,stem,over-ground part,tuber or bulb,etc. The top 10 frequency of medicines were as follows as Terminalia chebula,Cartha-mus tinctorius,Aucklandia lappa,Amomum kravanh,Phyllanthus emblica,Piper longum,Inula racemosa,Punica granatum, Moschus berezovskii,Adhatoda vasica;and 19% preparations contained three fruits(T. chebula,P. emblica,Terminalia bellirica). CONCLUSIONS:Tibetan medicine preparations have rich varieties,reasonable herbal medicines,more solid preparations,widely clinic application,contain more herbal drugs and commonly usethree fruits,while fewer preparations have obtained license number.

RESUMO

High altitude polycythemia (HAPC) had become one of the main common chronic diseases, which had seriously threatened the health of Plateau people. In the Tibetan medicine classic bookSi-Bu Yi-Dian, there were recordings on HAPC treatment methods and medications, which had the unique advantages of identified therapeutic effect with little side effect. This article analyzed Tibetan medicine in the prevention and treatment of HAPC from aspects such as etiology and pathogenesis, clinical treatment advantages and modern innovation study. Questions were also raised on lacking of standardization on HAPC clinical effectiveness, as well as Tibetan medicine compound material basis and action mechanisms were unclear. It was proposed that based on the inheritance of Tibetan medicine theoretical basis and clinical therapeutic effect, the Tibetan medicine original thinking should be combined with modern science and technology, in order to strengthen the analysis of ancient literature collection in HAPC treatment and data mining in medication experiences. The clinical treatment standards and medication plan should be standardized. Methods of systems biology, such as metabolomics, can be used in the further study of the scientific connotation of HAPC treatment by Tibetan medicine.

This study was aimed to establish quality standards of Granati pericarpium and Granati semen. The microscopy and thin layer chromatography (TLC) were used in the identification of Granati semen. According to the 2010 Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the content of moisture, total ash, acid-insoluble ash and alcohol-soluble extract were determined. And the HPLC was used in the content determination of ellagic acid in Granati semen and Granati pericarpium. The results showed that the microscopic characteristics of Granati semen were identified. And TLC identification of Granati semen was established. The content determination method of ellagic acid in Granati pericarpium and Granati semen were established. It was concluded that the established qualitative and quantitative method can be used for quality control of Granati pericarpium and Granati semen.

Ethnic medicine is an important component of traditional Chinese medicine and excellent traditional culture. New products of ethnic medicine are important application form to play therapeutic advantages of ethnic medicine, whose research and development should focus on the maintenance of characteristics of ethnic medicine. From the perspective of the research and development of ethnic medicine, this article discussed research ideas in the development of new products of ethnic medicine and put forward that attention should be paid to the experience on using the ethnic medicine, related literature studies, and ethnic medicine resource protection and utilization as well. In addition, this article put forward the research tactics in new products of ethnic medicine, such as medicinal materials, effective parts, active ingredients, the secondary development research and so on, with a purpose of improving the level of researching and developing new products of ethnic medicine.

This study was aimed to find out the optimum parameters to decoction extraction process of Brassicae Radix cream . With methods of integrated score and uniform design , contents of the total extract and the total polysaccharide were set as the target to investigate the optimization process of extraction. The experiment showed that the optimum extraction condition was as follows: ten folds of water, four times decoction at boiling tempera-ture , one hour for each time . It was concluded that the optimum parameters to decoction extraction of Brassicae Radix were stable and feasible, which can be used for the preparation and reference for Brassicae Radix cream in Tibetan clinics .

The article was aimed to study the influence of low pressure and hypoxia on rat metabolism and evaluate the intervention effect of San-Guo-Tang-San (SGTS) on high altitude polycythemia (HAPC) rats. A total of 25 rats were divided into the plain control group, high altitude model group, Hong-Jing-Tian capsule (Nuo-Di-Kang cap-sule) group, high-dose SGTS group and low-dose SGTS group, with 5 rats in each group. After one week adaptation, rats in the model group and the medication groups were put into the hyperbaric chamber for 40 days (22 h/d) to simulate high altitude environment of 5 000 m. In the end of 40th day, the hemorheology and the dry/wet weight ratio of lung of rats were measured. And plasma samples were derivatized with ECF prior to GC-MS instrumental analysis. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to find potential biomarkers, and evaluate the intervention effects of SGTS. The results showed that the low pressure and hypoxia changed the hemorheology and dry/wet weight ratio of lung of rats markedly. Metabolomics studies showed that the high altitude model group, high-dose SGTS group, low-dose SGTS group, and Hong-Jing-Tian capsule group can be obviously differentiated. Main markers such as 9-hexylheptadecane, glycine, N-methyl-N-methoxycarbonyl-ethyl ester, 2,4-Di-tert-butylphenol, were found to be the endogenous substances of SGTS which intervening the HAPC rats. It was concluded that SGTS can intervene low pressure and hypoxia induced HAPC.
